Birthday Wishes

This time the colors are the right ones for the GinaK Monday challenge. Kraft, black, and white is really a lovely combination. I have several birthdays coming up this month so there will be a few birthday cards popping up. I also still have valentines to make so expect a few more of those. Tomorrow it is back to work, hopefully I will be able to make a card or two during the week. Thanks for looking!

Musical Love

Oh my goodness! I checked my blog after church and WOW, all the comments have just overwhelmed me {blushing}. For several years I have been stalking so many blogs, many of yours included, and thought that I would never be able to create my own cards as lovely and original as yours. Yet, here I am. Thank you so much.
Today's upload is a mistake. Okay, not a terrible mistake but I read the colors for the Monday challenge wrong (don't tell my principal!) and thought it was red, kraft and black. Oops! So this card, that was supposed to be for Monday is now for some the CPS challenge. I will try to come up with another one for the StampTV color challenge for Monday. So, without any further yakking - here is the card.....

Purple & Green Wishes

Here is the second and third card for our three new granddaughters. They are 8, 7 and 4 and I do think that they will like these sweet fairies. My son and his wife adopted another little girl, Kyle a few months ago - in fact the card I made for her was the very first card challenge I won on Gina K! That started me on this wonderful path of creating my own cards! It is so much fun and I have made so many wonderful new friends through GinaK.

Pink Wish

Here is the first of 3 cards that I am making for the 3 new granddaughters that will be joining our family in a few weeks. Our oldest son and his wife are adopting 3 wonderful little girls who we all already love dearly. The stamp set is Wishes and Dreams by Alisha K.

Spring Flower

This was a challenge for GinaK. It was to use the crayon resist technique. It has been a while since I did that and it was fun.

Sent with Love

One more time I am posting another valentine! I created this card very quickly. The idea came to me at work today so it was just making some colors work and although the envelopes are rather large for the mailbox I still think that it worked. The stamps were all from GinaK.  I used 3 different stamp sets for this: Autumn Beauty, Picture it, and Heartily Yours Additions. The designer paper was from the Sugar Rush paper pack from Basic Grey. This was also for the SG10 Challenge on Sketch Girls.

Lovely Day

Have a lovely day! What a great sentiment that is and I know that I will use it on cards other than just valentine cards. For now, however, it is a valentine card for one of my wonderful family members. I am so blessed to have so many people that I want to send cards to. Well, back to work and hopefully another card. This card was made with the Heartily Yours stamp set created by Nina. Look at the post below to get that link. This is a quick post during my lunch time at work.

Lots of Love

The valentine cards keep running through my mind, probably because there are so many "loves" in my life. By the time I finish making all of these I will probably not want to see reds of any kind for a while. Anyway - this was made using GinaK's Square Pegs which was created by Melanie.

Vintage Heart

Another valentine that I could incorporate into a challenge for Gina K Designs and also for Little Paper Shop. I used the Timeless Treasures stamp set from GinaK. The lace I had from my supply of embellishments that keeps on growing - probably because I buy some ever time I see them on sale anywhere. I aged the heart using some silver metallic rub and popped up the key. I do like the way it turned out.

Wedding Invitation

I have been asked to post a picture of the wedding invitations that I made (with help) for my nephew and his bride to be. They are Irish and wanted the green to come through loud and clear. She also wanted some gold and swirls. This was the card that was made - they loved it! This past weekend was the bridal shower so I made a card loosely based on the theme but more for just her. Here are both cards.

Sending Love

Yup, another valentine card. I told you I was going to be making a few. This one was hard, it was for a sketch challenge on GinaK and it was a bit of a struggle for me. I think the deep burgundies is what threw me off, I should have stuck with the pinks and reds. Anyway - it is done and entered and here's to hoping I win! Free stamps spur me on.

Card Box

Here is another great "gift" item that I made for a GKD challenge. Now this one was really fun to make and the possibilities are endless. I have so many ideas running through my head - wish I had timeto make them all! This was a lot easier than the last card set I made. The box is so sturdy that it is really perfect to keep photos in from a special occasion or vacation notes and memories. You will see this box again - thanks Gina for the wonderful StampTV lesson.

Birthday Set

I made this set for a challenge on GKD. The challenge was to create a belly band that holds 4 simple cards. I had more trouble with the simple stuff! I used the Lovely Shelf set and then Thanks a Million for the sentiments on the cards. I also used some of the digital designer paper from Gina K. I found a punch that let the designer paper slide in on the four corners. This will be for my sister who's birthday is coming up.

Hot Rod

The first of several Valentine cards I will be making and posting. If you are the mom of my grandchildren don't peek! {wink}. This is the image I was excited about for my grandsons. It is from the newest of GinaK Designs. It is called Heartily Yours and has a lot of wonderful images. I also used some of buttons from there and, yes, I actually sewed on the buttons! Another new addition is that I finally got a a watermark for my cards thanks to my daughter-in-law (thanks Elisabeth!) she did a great job, I love it. Tomorrow is an extra day off and I hope to get some stamping in so watch for another upload tomorrow.

Precious Moments

Recognizing Treasured Moments in our lives and in the people we love is something that is often overlooked. I was looking through my Christmas pictures the other day and came across this picture of my parents. I love how my dad is holding my mother's hand after almost 60 years of marriage. I am not into scrapbooks right now so I decided to make it into a card and put it on my desk to remind me of those precious moments. This card instantly came to mind when I read the challenge on SSC (Stamping Sisters in Christ) today. Time passes very quickly.

Welcome Girls

This is one of the cards I made for my soon to be 3 new granddaughters. I am going to try to make 3 cards, one for each, so that they each get their own. They are 8, 7 and 4 years old and sharing a card is just not good enough for these precious girls. Soon we will have the date of their adoption finalization and we are all looking forward to that special day - their gotcha day! I will add a sentiment when I decide on the other 2 cards.

Blue Flowers

Tonight was such a nice evening. My son's girlfriend came over to craft with me. She made an adorable tin to keep her memories in and I made a card with blue flowers. The flowers were supposed to be yellow and gold but when my DH saw it he said it looked like fall - soooo - I stamped 2 more flowers and used blue. Can't have a fall card in January! I used GinaK stamps called "A year of flowers" and "festive frame" both sets are designed by Melanie. The Festive Frame set was changed to be more of a spring looking card. The sentiment was from a SU set called "Upsy Daisy". I used GinaK cardstock: Vanilla, In the Navy, and Ocean Mist. I colored the flowers with Copics and put some bling under the saying. So this is the card I made for today.

Lovely Violet

I won a challenge on StampTV today - I am so excited! My "I{heart} you" card is the one that won. Yippee, I got to pick a stamp set for winning. This is really fun. Tonight I made another card that will probably be a birthday card for my sister. In my family there are always birthdays coming up which is good because there are always cards to make. Today's card was made for the sketch challenge from the GinaK release party last week. I used the GKD vibrant violet cs and some of the GKD digital dp. I also used the "Lovely Shelf" stamp set and some Copic Markers to color. I have a lot of the cute little DewDrops to embellish. So, here is my Monday card to share.

Gator Birthday

My wonderful teaching partner and dear friend is a HUGE gator fan. I (FSU all the way) tolerate it! I made her this little gift and card for her birthday this week. I used a cuttllebug folder to emboss the notepaper holder and the card. The gator is from StampinUp's Wild about you, and the cupcake card is from GinaK's Sweetest Blessings. The template for the note card holder was on found here on GinaK's site. It was a fun set to make but now I have a STRONG need to make something in Garnet and Gold!

Craft Room View

The name for my blog is for the view that I have from my craft room. Today I decided to take a couple of pictures to show you "the view" that I am lucky enough to have. The room overlooks a lake. The photos were taken on a clear cold Florida day - which are quite rare. I also did not clean it up before taking the picture. :-)

Get Well

Today I made 2 cards, 1 for my father and the other is for my mother-in-law who are both sick with a bad cold. I used GinaK's Tech Talk and Lovely Shelf stamp sets. I also used SU Buckaroo Blue and Always Artichoke inks. I did a lot of cutting and paper pieced the vase but I think they turned out well.

I {heart} you!

It is a cold and rainy day - yup even in Florida. It is past noon and I have not seen the sun yet! Great day for crafting. I should be cleaning, I should be grading papers and doing my grades, I should be doing the laundry, BUT I cannot waste a perfectly bad weather day like this and not sit up in my craft room and play. So until it is time for church tonight I am crafting!

I made this card for a couple of challenges. 1 of them was for making a Valentine's card without using red or pink. Hmmm - took some thought and playing but I got one. The other challenge is for the Monday color challenge on StampTV which was to make a card using green and blue.  I used the Tech Talk stamp set from GinaK. I love this set! I took the words "Happy Father's Day" and took out the "father" and put in the heart using masking. I embossed with vanilla embossing. Used a corner punch and a heart punch. The card stock was Wild Wasabi and Night of Navy from SU. The designer paper was just in a box of random paper that I have collected. So here is my non-traditional valentine card. Guess one of my sons will get this one. :-)

Dream

How exciting, I got my first follower! Thanks Lynda - I will have to make sure that I keep this blog up to date and fun to look at.

I seem to be in a brown mode these past couple of nights. This card was for the GinaK sketch challenge tonight. I kind of liked the way it turned out. It may not look like our lake but it is a little like the "Craft Room with a view".
I used:
Cardstock: Gina Pure Luxury Ivory and All Spruced Up
Stamps: Gina K - Guiding Light (Rupa) and Life is Good (Theresa) and Sanded (SU)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black - SU Bashful Blue and Basic Brown for sponging
Markers: Copics G28, C3
Extras: Martha Stewart branch punch and some brown buttons that I had

Quick Card

Last night I made a quick card for the GinaK challenge. I made this card while I was on the phone to my wonderful DIL (daughter-in-law). I just cannot let one of those challenges go by in the hopes that I may win one of the new stamp sets that I am already drooling over. The challenge was to color a Cuttlebug folder and was to look a little like Italian marble. Well, I do not know about the marble part but the folder was colored with basic brown ink.

The stamps were from 2 of GinaK's sets - one being Signs of Autumn (the cup) and the saying was from Warm Winter Wishes.

So here's crossing my fingers for a win! And looking forward to the release party tomorrow night!

Not a Card

Making cards is fun but I do have a hard time making things that are not cards. Doing the challenges is forcing me to branch out and try some new things. On StampTV the challenge was to make something with a bow and a flower and a stamped image or words. Well, I created two items and do not feel great about either one. But I did it and will keep trying. Here is a picture of what I created these past two days.

The paper and the embellishments were all found in my supply of stuff that I mostly find in sale bins. The little that I stamped was using Gina K stamps.

CPS 148 sketch blog hop

Here is my card for this blog hop.
Stamps: Gina K Sweetest Blessing
CS: Real Red, Brilliant Blue
DP: Found in my stash, no idea where I got it
Extras; Coloring with Copics
Some bling from Michaels.

WOW

I actually got my very first comment! Thanks Wordbird! How exciting. I think I am going to like this! More updates will be forthcoming! I am still learning though. I do not know how so many of you make your blogs look so nice! I will learn though - watch out - Miesje is coming!

Another first

I am going to try to post a card I made today. I made this for one of this week's StampTV challenges. Oh my goodness - I think I did it! I am not sure if I am breaking any rules but I am also going to post this for Melanie's anniversary blog hop. Another just to see if I can do it.
