Birthday Rose: Psalm 118:6

I just made a simple card this week. I never have enough birthday cards so that or thank you cards are my usual go to cards when I do not have a specific card to make. Once again it is Sunday and time for another challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ!

This week Candace is our challenge hostess and brings us the  verse from Psalm 118:6.
"The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?"

I think we are all afraid of something. For me it is talking in front of a crowd. Kind of strange really since I am a reader at my church. But that is reading God's Word, so it does not make me as nervous. However this past Wednesday I had to give out an award to the student with the highest average in my class. Some of the teachers just share off the cuff, I was a nervous wreck before I got up to the podium. I did overcome it and did just fine.

The challenge this week is; Do something on your card that you're "afraid" of! For example, CAS style, stitching, a vintage look, etc. Just do something you wouldn't normally do!

The thing I am afraid of is the non traditional rectangle card. I do not like square cards and circle cards are also more of a challenge for me. So I made a circle card - I used a Spellbinder die to cut out the circle. There just doesn't seem to be enough room for all the "stuff" I want to put on it!

This week our sponsor is Sweetn' Sassy Stamps, please give them a visit!

Don't forget to stop by my SSIC design sisters (listed on the sidebar) to see what they have to share this week.
It is always great to see you, thanks for the comments and have a wonderful week surrounded with God's love.

Miesje, your circle card is beautiful! I love the way the rose peeks up over the top of the card. Colors are striking too. Just beautiful. I used to be afraid of speaking in front of a group too. During my second year of teaching, I was the secretary to the teacher's organization and had to get up and read the minutes. I hyperventilated my first time and had to sit down. Most embarrassing. Now, many years later, I don't even give it a thought. So a repeat performance on the gorgeous shaped card may eliminate all fears for you! OH, do it again soon! Have a fearless week, sister! So good to have spent time with you here this morning!

This is so pretty...love the rose and the shape really accentuates the design on this one! I know what you mean, circle cards don't have as much room to add the pretty stuff!! You did a wonderful job on this, Miesje!! Wishing you a wonderful week in the Lord!!

I agree with Linda, you always make me smile as do your cards! This is a lovely example of a circle card, and will make a lovely little gift in the mail for someone. Wishing you a blessed week!

HA, that's funny as I don't like rectangle cards. LOVE your circle card with that beautiful rose!! We have the same fear Miesje--speaking in front of a crowd. I'm sure it is not a natural thing to be perfectly comfortable doing that..; and those who do find it easy prolly have plenty of practice. ANyways, great job stepping out of your comfort zone with your circle card. Have a wonderful week!! :)

I should say... I don't like MAKING rectangle cards, because they don't allow enough room for all my stuff I want to put on them. But you do a wonderful job with them!! :) (I do tend to put my foot in mouth... oops!)

Very pretty card! I love the way the rose pops off the top of the card! That's so cool and something I've never tried yet! Love it! ~H

Lovely round card, Miesje. I usually gravitate towards rectangles or squares, so maybe I will try a round one or a spellbinders' shape. I am not fond of speaking in front of crowds either. I do it if I have to, but wow, I get nervous! Pretty popular fear, I believe. :) Hugs, Kel

Love the swirl on your card and I really love the way the rose is outside the circle (does that make sense?). And all I usually make are square cards cuz those are the clear envelopes I buy. Rectangles just don't cut it anymore. Besides, 2 6x6 cards can be cut from 12x12 card stock :) lol Of course, I use so much paper in my cards. Usually 3 to 4 full sheets. My cards can be so heavy :)
Blessings,
Michelle
