Sending Love

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I have several more cards to make. Here is one. I just love the designer paper that came with the Stamp TV Kit. This was pretty simple card. Instead of just reds and pinks though I liked throwing the brown in there.

Thanks for looking and for the comments!

Birthday Wishes: Psalm 23

Yipes - it is Sunday again and we all know that Sunday means another challenge at  Stampin' Sisters in Christ, I am so glad you could join us again!

Today Lisa, our leader extraordinaire,  is our challenge hostess and the scripture she chose is Psalm 23.
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
When I saw what the scripture was this week I immediately knew that I wanted to use those sheep on some green pastures. This verse says so much and probably speaks to people in many different ways. To me it is a search for peace. I have a tendency to worry (I can just see my DH nodding his head) - I worry about our children - my parents - my grandchildren to the point where I am not even in a peaceful place. It keeps me awake at night and changes the way that I interact with those I am worried about. When I live "The Lord is my shepherd and I shall not want" I would not need to worry and when it says "He makes me lie down in green pastures and still waters and restores my soul!" Okay - I get it. THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD! I have to let go and let Him lead me. Sometimes easier said than done but definitely have to strive for it!

The challenge this week is to create a card or project that uses the colors blue (still waters) and green (green pastures).

Our sponsor this week is Taylored Expressions and you could win the wonderful stamp set called Rest & Renewal.

CSS Alumni Sketch Blog Hop

It is time for another Stamp TV CSS Blog Hop. This is a sketch hop and a fantastic sketch it is. Thanks Melissa!I really wanted to make two cards with this sketch but time just got away from me. So here is the sketch and the card that I made with the sketch.

You should have arrived from Melissa Schultz blog and you were undoubtedly blown away! If you want to start at the beginning  or get lost along the way, just head on over to the home page of StampTV.

The card was made using the new stamp set called, Dino-Mite designed by Theresa and sold by GinaK. Having 13 grandchildren there always seems to be a birthday around the corner. This set is perfect for the next grandson birthday. He will love it. I tried to make it boyish. I used Pure Luxury Moonlit Fog for the base and the embossed panel and the frame. The dino was stamped on some paper from Basic Grey called "lime Rickey". I also used it as a panel behind the brown print paper from the same paper pack. I embossed the grey panel after inking the Cuttlebug folder. I had those green buttons. I embossed the sentiment but was disappointed with the color of green. Doesn't match but I could not start over. Aaron won't mind or even notice though!

Now hop on over to visit Pam Imhol  for some more inspiration. Thanks for hopping along with us and for the kind comments you leave. It is good to be back!

Oh, don't forget to leave comments as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (February 1st), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs who will get a stamp set of their choice valued up to $24.95!

With Sympathy

Do you watch StampTV? I certainly do - I love watching the different techniques and then trying some of them. For this card I just had to try the drop shadow technique. This required using the Stamp-a-Ma-jig. I am really not good at using that thing and the shadow did not go in the direction I wanted it to. But is still looks kind of cool. I embossed the butterfly on vellum and cut it out and popped it up.

Thanks for looking and for the comments!

Love: Jeremiah 31:3

The last week in January is already upon us. I honestly do not know how time moves by us so quickly! Sunday means another challenge at  Stampin' Sisters in Christ and we are always so happy to see you.

Today our Lovely Linda is our challenge hostess and the scripture she chose is Jeremiah 31:3.
"The LORD appears to him from afar: With age-old love I have loved you; so I have kept my mercy toward you."(New American Bible - St. Joseph Edition)
Love - such a powerful word! Sometimes I think we overuse it. We say, "I love coffee", or "I love that card". I always end a phone conversation (or a text) with my family with a quick "Love you". Quick words - but read the above verse again - that is not a quick {Luv U}. That is an amazing love - like no other. How lucky am I to be loved like that - how lucky are you? Awesome!

The challenge this week is to create a card or project that is vintage. I think that all of us have a technique that is well outside of our comfort zone. Vintage is mine. In fact there have been times when someone tells me that I made a great vintage card and I did not even realize that it was. Hopefully this qualifies Linda! I truly did hand sew around the grey panel! I used 2 different Cuttlebug embossing folders. I colored with just a few Copics and some sparkly pens. I had the charm.

Our sponsor this week is Designed 2 Delight, 2 digital images for you to download, print and color.

With Love

Another new stamp set I got this month is Hopeful Hearts, designed by Tami Mayberry and sold by GinaK Designs.

I stamped the image on white using a Kaleidacolor pad. I have not used that in a long time and was kind of fun. Then I looked for some designer paper to use in this sketch. The sentiment came from Blocked Greetings also designed by Tami. I used some of my wonderful Nesties and popped a few red flowers that I had. Easy card.

Cuckoo

I think I am having way too much fun with the GinaK Stamp TV kit for this month. Love that cuckoo clock!
I stamped the image on Kraft, colored it with Copics and cut it out. Then I took the Lemon Drop and used the distress ink on it. Rounded the corners and put it on some red before putting it all on the Kraft. I punched out a heart and stamped the sentiments on Kraft. I also used a glitter pen to enhance the clock although you can't really see it. Well, that is it for tonight - I hope to make another for tomorrow.

I wonder who will get this card on Valentine's Say?

Missing my friend

What a fun image. This was from the GinaK Stamp TV kit for this month. It really has a lot of fun images in it.

I stamped the image on Pure Luxury white. Since I was also creating this card using the JUGS colors I stamped the bench twice - once on the white and again on the SU - Guava then paper pieced the seat of the bench. I layered green, peach and Turquoise Sea with just a strip of striped DP. I used a Cuttlebug border along the top of the card and Spellbinder dies for the tag and the decorative addition to the oval.

Just a fun card to make and will be fun to send to my friend, who I do miss!

Blessings: 2 Cor. 5:17

I hope you are staying warm with all this cold air everywhere.  I thought this little girl would warm your heart, and working on a challenge will warm your hands. So here is this weeks challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ.

Today Grace is our challenge hostess and the scripture she chose is from the book of 2 Cor.5:17.
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
Such a simple concept - believe and be new. The tulip that the little Tilda girl is holding represents new to me. The cold and freezes of winter leads into the warmth of new growth every year. Like life, we may experience some darkness some cold times. What brings us back is the grace of Christ's love. If we trust and believe and let Him into our lives we get through and become new. Great verse Grace!

The challenge this week is to create a card or project shows "new".  Use the theme of "NEW" and interpret it as you want: new year, new life, new birth, new supplies, new house, etc. Please tell us what you use to fit the challenge. This is the first time I used the Magnolia stamp - in fact it was a gift (thanks Jennie Harper!). I also think that the tulip represents new.

Our sponsor this week is a $15.00 gift certificate to Clear Dollar Stamps.

CSS Color Blog Hop

It is time for another Stamp TV CSS Blog Hop. This time around it is a color challenge. The amazing thing is that you  have two choices for this one (thanks Gina!). The first one I have had done for a few days but the second one I did very quickly when I got home from work tonight. It shows you that not every card has to be elaborate.

Here are the 2 color choices:

And here are the cards I made:

You should have arrived from Melissa Schultz blog and I am sure that all the stops on this hop were incredible! There is such talent at StampTV.  If you want to start at the beginning  or get lost along the way, just head on over to the home page of StampTV or directly over to the start of the blog hop here.

The first card was made using Lovely Shelf stamps set for the flowers and vase and the sentiment was from Love Notes, both sold by GinaK. The DP was from Cosmo Cricket called Circa 1934. I colored the flowers with my wonderful Capics and used Labels Four for the image and the frame around the image. I also used a bit of lace with a button.

The second card was super simple which is NOT my preferred style. I used my brand new Gina K stamp set called Gleefully Yours. I colored the stamp with markers and used my Score-Buddy to score a couple of lines on the side. I do like the end result which surprised me!

Now hop on over to visit Peggy Wainman, rumor has it that she has 2 cards to share with you! Thanks for hopping along with us and for the kind comments you leave. It is good to be back!

Be sure to join the Gina's Color Challenge. We would love to see your creations and you could win a prize!

Warm Winter Wishes

I do like the way this turned out - kind of simple. It came together pretty  easily with just a little refresher video on emboss resist from StampTV.
I used the snowflake embossing folder on the Little Boy Blue pane. as a background. On the white I first stamped the snowflakes in blue. Then I stamped the tree with Versamark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I stamped the nest, bird and squirrel on it before using a sponge dauber to go around the tree.

This is a fun and easy technique!

Birthday Cup

This was made for several challenges. I did have fun with it. Do you notice the matching envelope? How fun is that? That was a StampTV technique video. It really was easy yet finishes off the card so well!

I took the cup and saucer image from Melanie's Mugs and Kisses stamp set available at GinaK Designs and stamped it twice, once on Draft and the other time on Turquose Sea after which I ran that through an inked stripe Cuttlebug folder. I paper pieced the cup together. The tag is from Spellbinders Lattice Borders.

Do you think this qualifies as a masculine card? Probably not but it was fun anyway!

Wings: Ruth 2:12

Welcome back! Did you miss us - I missed all of you! It was nice to have a couple of weeks off during the busy holidays. We had a wonderful time with family and friends but now I am glad to get back to our routine - you are part of that routine. So here is the first weekly challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ for this year.

Today Chris is our challenge hostess and the scripture she chose is from the book of Ruth 2:12.
"May the LORD repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge."
You know when I read this verse my first thought was how wonderfully the Lord has always rewarded me - protected me - seen me though difficulties and rejoiced with me in all of my celebrations. I have always been under His wings and so grateful for it!

The challenge this week is to create a card or project that has wings. I chose to do a bird and use the fabulous designer paper that I got from a friend. The little bird in the corner that is part of the paper was just perfect! I also decided that I wanted it to be a thank you card - thank to my parents for teaching me from birth on about the love of the Lord. Thank you to my husband who has an incredible relationship with our God. Thank you to my family and friends, especially my Stampin' Sisters who always support and encourage and challenge me to a life filled with the love of Jesus!

Our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamps and the stamp set you can win is awesome!

Sweet Sugar

I made this card just for fun! Having 6 granddaughters who have birthdays doesn't hurt either. It was a fun card to make and the colors are a little different for a girls birthday card but they are colors that I love.

I was also practicing on using my Copics. The hair was difficult for me and will have to practice a bit more on that. I used some pink Stickles on the cupcake.

Thanks for stopping by!

It was the first time I used this technique and I really liked it.
Making masculine cards always seems to be a challenge, yet this one seemed to fit the bill.

Floral Birthday

Sometimes I make a card that is relatively simple and just love how it turns out. This is the card for me. I think the colors and the big bow just got me. I also made it very quickly (something else I like). I had made this card for the StampTV Countdown challenge. I didn't win but I get to keep the card, at least until some lucky recipient gets this card! Do you sometimes find it difficult to part with your favorite cards? I do - in fact that is something that I plan to do more of - send the cards away.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year

God's Blessings to all of you for this upcoming year. I know that it has been quite a while since I posted anything. I am finally back in the swing of things. The Christmas season was wonderful at our home and tomorrow it is back to the routine of work and "regular life". I am not complaining mind you, I like routine. I made a few cards in the past couple of days, this is one of them. I made this for the StampTV Countdown challenge. This one asked for a button on a bow. I stamped the the image (Lovely Labels) twice, first on regular white and then again on DP. I cut out the flowers and popped them up on the front.

Glad to be back! You will see more of me now.
