Christmas Wonder: Isaiah 64:8

It was another busy week at work and now we are preparing for whatever  Isaac (hurricane) may bring our way. I work in Tampa and live only about 30 miles north, please keep all those in it's path in your prayers. Another Sunday also means that Stampin' Sisters in Christ has another challenge based on scripture for you!

This week Diane is the challenge hostess and the verse she chose is from Isaiah 64:8. Be sure to read her devotion for this week over on SSIC, her words are always inspirational.
"Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand."
I decided to make a Christmas card, the first of the year. I will be happy I did when November rolls around! This card was made with the digi stamps called, "Stocking Stuffers" sold at Daydream Designs which is owned by our very own Diane! I printed it twice and then cut out and popped up the holly and the candy cane. I also added some tiny red pearls and some really cool fuzzy white balls. It was fun to make a Christmas card without being under pressure!

The challenge this week is; Use punches, dies, or shapes of any kind.

This week our sponsor has asked to remain anonymous with a bag of stamps.

Don't forget to stop by my SSIC design sisters (listed on the sidebar) to see what they have to share this week.
It is always great to see you, thanks for the comments and have a wonderful week surrounded with God's love.

CSS - Inspiration Blog Hop - 8/24/2012

It is another StampTV blog hop; an inspiration blog hop - usually difficult for me but this one just came together. I love the picture, a change in seasons is coming and I love the Fall colors.
You should have arrived from the fabulous blog of Melissa Cash with what I am sure was a wonderful project!

I made a quick card this time. It has been a very busy time for me with back to school here. The first few weeks of school are always very hectic with lesson planning and new students to get to know. When I saw the inspiration picture I was instantly drawn to the deep color of the door and the yellows and greens with it. So I used the Floral Wreath stamp set from Gina. I colored the flowers with my Copics and fussy cut the wreath. I popped up the wreath and the circle in the middle with the sentiment. I added the variegated ribbon. The back panel is pure luxury Cranberry Crisp which I ran through the Cuttlebug. Simple card that turned out well.
Now hop on over to visit Tera Fujan, for some more fabulous eye candy. If you want to start at the beginning or get lost along the way, just jump directly to the links for all of the wonderful creations on StampTV.

Make sure to leave a comment as you hop along because on Tuesday morning (August 28), we will randomly choose one of the comments from all the blogs and that person will receive a huge grab bag of fabulous Gina K. Designs Stamps!

Thanks for stopping by!

More Coffee!

I really do love coffee and the stamps Perfect Blend digi stamps from Daydream Designs are such fun to play with.

When I made the card that I posted earlier this week I had printed several images and played around with cropping them and using parts of an image. Digital images are great to do that with. So this is another quick card that used some of those croppings. I added a bit of burlap just for fun.

Sorry for the short post but I still have some lessons to work on for tomorrow's classes.

Thanks for visiting and be sure to check out Daydream Designs, you will love them!

Brimming Coffee Cup

Yesterday I said I would retake the picture of this card made with the cute digital stamps from Daydream Designs. So here is the full card.

Now I have to put in a disclaimer here. After work today I had an appointment at the eye doctor and my eyes were dilated. Well, everything is still kind of blurry and the words on the card look blurry but not sure if it was the photographer (with the dilated eyes) or me looking at it now. Oh well....

Working with digital images is fun because you can print out the images any size you want. I made the coffee cup, from "Perfect Blend" rather big and used some Stickles to give it some dimension. I played around with the brown panel trying to figure out what look I wanted - finally ran some twine up and down. I added a bow and some brads. Love that sentiment from "Coffee with Friends".

Thanks for coming back!

I entered this card in the following challenges:

Make it Monday - always Anything Goes

Daydream Designs

I am several hours later then I wanted to be with this post - work (school started and I am a teacher) and life (my printer died) got in the way - but I am here now. I am so excited to be on the design team for a new amazing digi stamp company called Daydream Designs. Diane is the wonder-woman behind this endeavor and it is impressive! I love her stamps and sentiments.

Some of the images are colored by another wonder-woman and friend, Kris.
Since my printer died when I was going to print and work on a card I was not able to get a card done.....until tonight! But now the light is bad and my pictures are not how I wanted.....so......I am showing you a preview of the card that I will post in it's complete form after work tomorrow.

This is the preview...kind of a tease I know. Sorry about that. Rest assured that the full card will be up. I am just "Brimming with excitement" to be working with Diane and I encourage you to check out her really wonderful stamps! I love them all!

See you tomorrow!

God's Blessings: Proverbs 30:5

My goodness what a week I've had! Some weeks are like that aren't they? But today I am home and rejoicing in the many blessings in my life. Another Sunday also means that Stampin' Sisters in Christ has another challenge based on scripture for you!

This week Candace is the challenge hostess this week and she chose a verse from Proverbs 30:5. Be sure to read her devotion for this week over on SSIC, I am sure it will be wonderful!
"Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him."
A quick card this week and a quick post - sorry about that. It is wonderful how God works though. As I stated in my opening, it was a busy week; my neighbor, who we loved dearly, passed away on Tuesday and everything at work went wrong and then today my printer died! But when I saw the card that I had made early in the week I noticed again the sentiment I had chosen from ODBD and it calmed me. Such a wonderful reminder of my many, many blessings and the One who bestows them on me.

The challenge this week is; Use a sentiment only - no images!

This week our sponsor is Our Daily Bread Designs. Be sure to stop and browse the wonderful stamps.

Don't forget to stop by my SSIC design sisters (listed on the sidebar) to see what they have to share this week.
It is always great to see you, thanks for the comments and have a wonderful week surrounded with God's love.

Home: John 14:1-6

Hello dear friends, happy Sunday! Tomorrow it is back to work for me and all the teachers in our area. As much as I love being home I am very grateful that I have a job that I love. But today I am home and  Stampin' Sisters in Christ has another challenge based on scripture for you!

Our wonderful Traci is the challenge hostess this week and she chose a verse from John 14:1-6. Be sure to read her devotion for this week over on SSIC, I am sure it will be wonderful!
"Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way where I am going."
Kind of a wacky fun card this week. Lots of different papers and even the house is a tiny bit crooked. This is just the way I wanted this little house to look because that is our home! We were blessed with the 8 children we adopted; they are all different (you can click on the all about me tab to see my blessings) and together we are a home!

The challenge this week is; Create a card that depicts something that says "home" to you.

This week our sponsor is DRS Designs. Be sure to stop and browse the wonderful stamps.

Don't forget to stop by my SSIC design sisters (listed on the sidebar) to see what they have to share this week.
It is always great to see you, thanks for the comments and have a wonderful week surrounded with God's love.

Oh Baby: I Peter 2: 2-3

Sunday again - today we are having our Back to School Bash for our children and grandchildren. A fun lake day to play and enjoy each other. A day to thank God for his very many Blessings. We, at Stampin' Sisters in Christ count you as some of our blessings!

The ever sweet Sandie is the challenge hostess this week and she chose a verse from I Peter 2:2-3. Be sure to read her devotion for this week over on SSIC, I am sure it will be wonderful!
"...as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious."
Today at mass a baby was baptized during the service. It was so beautiful. Jerry and I teach the baptism classes at our parish and we were able to get to know this sweet young couple. After the service we went over to talk to them and their 2 year old and the sweet baby. As I hugged the proud and happy dad he whispered that they would be back for another class in about a year. He was beaming - another baby is coming! The mom is also very, very happy. That is how we should be whenever we hear the Word - whether it be through a church service or reading or just experiencing those moments that have us Thanking God!

This baby card was fun to make - what is not fun when it comes to babies! I love the colors too. The little scene was made from a stamp set from TCM called Sending You Sunshine. I did a little paper piecing  and a little glitter pen and some stickles. It was just a fun card!

The challenge this week is; to make something "Baby" OR All (only) pastels

This week our sponsor is Denami Design. Be sure to stop and browse the wonderful stamps. The flower image on my card is one of theirs.

Don't forget to stop by my SSIC design sisters (listed on the sidebar) to see what they have to share this week.
It is always great to see you, thanks for the comments and have a wonderful week surrounded with God's love.
