One Year Older

What a great, but challenging sketch! I created 2 panels of translucent yupo paper sheets using green and red alcohol inks. THe background paper is making use of the clouds stencil template that I dearly love. The flowers are from the Stitched Blooms and the fun sentiment is from Anything but Basic sentiment set. I do like how it turned out and it was fun to make.

Birthday

A few weeks ago I had a coloring day - coloring with distress oxide inks. I had colored several images from the Birth-Yay stamp set. I had these images left over after making several cards using the fun colored critters. I only had to add the balloons because it needed a little something more. I created the background with the small Small Brick Wall stencil and some light gray ink - added a few spotlight circle frames and a sentiment with the From all of Us stamp set. All were from MFT and the card is for the sketch challenge.

Thanks for looking,

Birthday Balloon

A birthday balloon using cream and white card-stock along with a scrap of alcohol ink for the balloon. It looked kind of bland and I kept trying to spruce it up, nothing looked right so I just took a corner punch and put it on the bottom corner. I really think that the balloon looks like the world so the sentiment seemed to go perfect with it. This card is for the sketch challenge at MFT, which is also responsible for the sentiment!

Slider Card

I love watching Jennifer McGuire videos especially when I am trying to get out of a rut with with too many similar cards, Jennifer to the rescue with a Ribbon Slider Card. The stamp set I used is the GKD Grand Garden. Yup more flowers - another entry for the Monthly Challenge called Flower Power. I stamped it on Passionate Pink with Passionate Pink ink for a tone on tone look. Not as good as Jennifer's (of course!) but at least the card slides. Now please don't look too close because I glued the flower panel upside down! Good grief!!! I didn't even notice it until I took the picture.

Blooms Birthday

I love pulling out some of my favorite stamps sets once in a while - this is from the GKD Tropical Blooms stamp set. I used Zig watercolor markers to color this card. I had a few little oops and covered that up by using a sponge to dab some Passionate Pink surrounding the flowers. I also added some pink sequence.

I love having a flower challenge since that is the area where I seem to have the most stamps. I will be posting another flower card soon.

Seven Years Old

Is this not just the cutest hippo ever?!?! I colored him with distress oxide inks - something new for me. I used a stencil and more distress oxide inks for the background. It was fun since I had no idea how it was going to turn out and what I was going to make with it when I made it. In fact the background sat on my craft table for a while before I put it to some good use. Since 2 grandsons turn 7 this month I wanted to make the cards different but I used the same stamp set for both. I love the new Birth-Yah stamp set - I have already  made 3 cards using it.

This is being entered in the Birthday Project for MFT stamps.

Birthday Turtle

First, don't look too close! The red balloon got a little messed up by a bit too much Wink of Stella! I have 2 grandsons turning 7 this month so I came up with 2 cards that included the #7 and I wanted this one to follow the sketch challenge at MFT. I used 2 different MFT stamp sets for this one, the Birth-Yah  set (so much fun!) and the Bundle of Balloons which I stamped directly on the paper and then used the Wink of Stella to add sparkle. That sparkle is not showing up very well on the photo but it truly does shine!

This card is for the monthly Birthday challenge and the sketch challenge for this week.

Doodled Birthday

The challenge at GKD this month is flowers - well that should be fun - I LOVE flowers! I couldn't afford any of the new stamp sets but I have a lot of flower stamp sets that I can use. I had started this card while on the challenge for last month (coral color), I had tried to create a coral color but failed on this so I gave up and did not finish it. So this time I did finish it and I do like the result. I colored using some distress inks on the awesome stamp set by Lisa Hetrick called Just a Little. The sentiment is from Doodle Sayings. It just seemed to go together so well and I needed a birthday card!

Thanks for the visit,
