BOO!

I pulled out some old and some new for this card. I used the new Spooky Tree dies from SSS. An old stamp set from a company that is no longer around (Mark's Finest Papers) and a technique (AmyR at Prairie Paper and Ink) I saw for glow in the dark embossing powder. What fun that was! Of course mine is not as cute as hers but I think my grand-kids will like it!

Thanks,

Glittery Pink Birthday

A very glittery simple birthday card using DecoFoil. I have lots and lots of birthday cards that I send out each month. Most I try to make specifically for the recipient but I also like to have a few in my stash in case I get behind. This one is pink with some fun balloons floating. DecoFoil and some of GinaK's foilable sentiments sure makes it easy to make some quick birthday cards to keep on hand.

Believe in Christmas

I got the star and the Believe in Christmas last year and I am embarrassed to say this is the first time I used it. I think i purchase more than I use - bad me! This is on navy card stock and a star stencil from MFT. The star and believe is using silver glitter paper. I heat embossed the "in the magic of" in navy embossing powder and the Christmas in silver. I also used several layers of the star and believe to add some dimension. The sentiment is on some vellum.

Thanks,
Miesje

Christmas Wreath

I finally had some time to play today! Christmas cards time. This one is using the Merry Wreath stamp set. I popped up the center sentiment and the bow. Just used some inks from GinaK and some Nuvo drops. I gold embossed the bow and the sentiment. I also used some gold Perfect Pearls for the some splatter. I do like the result.

Thinking of You

I had this heart on my craft table from a few weeks ago and had not used it. Today I did. My brother has to have knee replacement surgery so I made this card for him. This was also after watching a video this time by Kristina Werner, I did change it up a bit and I think I added a tad too many gold drops. I did use her blending ideas and a strip along the side. She is amazing and I always enjoy watching her videos.

Thank you,
Miesje

Birthday Wishes

I had a wonderful Sunday watching some YouTube videos and made a few more cards. This card was made after watching Cathy Zeilske make a card like this. I did not have her great sentiments (it is on my wish list) but found something that I could use and I always need birthday cards. The ink blending was fun and I liked the white space below it.

WCMD - Christmas

I managed to get a third card done today, amazing but don't ask me if I got my Saturday chores done! This card totally did not go well, however I was able to salvage it into a presentable card. I had watched a couple of videos with the Festive Flower stamp set and wanted to pull out my colored pencils for the first time in quite a while - and it showed. I really struggled with this. The video showed it on a gray cardstock - I didn't have any so I went with the Kraft. The gold embossing didn't show up as well as I would have liked, in fact the sentiment that was on the bottom could hardly be read. Therefore I cut that off and found my Holiday Seals (the Stamping Village) and used that instead. Card saved! Not my favorite but that is the way it goes sometimes.

WCMD 2019 - Take 2

I finished another card using the same technique as the last card with the Flora stamp from SSS and some Nuvo Shimmer Powders after watching a video from Prairie Paper and Ink. I am glad that I made 2 cards using this technique = thank Amy! I made this one a Thank You card.

Thank you,

Miesje

WCMD - 2019

World Card Making Day 2019 - fun with the SSS Flora stamp and some Nuvo Shimmer Powders after watching a video from Prairie Paper and Ink. This really was just a blast, it truly felt like I was playing. I think I will have to make another similar card while I have all the stuff out since I hope to craft for part of today.

Thank you for looking and check out Amy's video - great technique!

Anniversary Flowers

I love the Altenew flowers, they are great for layering and even when time is short and I just want to get it done! So this is a quick anniversary card for my son and his wife. Just some simple Copic coloring and the background was light ink blending over a stencil.

Fall Tree

Oh what fun I had today pulling out an old stamp set and products. I used distress oxide inks for the background using several colors and an old product called Flower Soft. I am not even sure if that is even still around. I have had this stamp set called "Shadow Play" for a while and it was never used - now it has.

November Birthday

I have not used this fun stamp set from Concord and 9th in a while - I had forgotten how much fun these sentiments in "All Year Long" are! I also used the SSS Leaves stencil (for the background) and die that I smushed in some watercolor paints. I really like the outcome of this card.

Thanks for looking!

Congrats

Just having some fun with stencil and distress oxide inks. I really do like color blending and I liked these bright rainbow colors. I was going to use fall colors but I live in Florida - we MAY get some fall in January - no guarantees though! Either way I wanted to enter one card using Hero Arts products so this was what I chose to do.

Blue Christmas

I learned a lot making this card! That is always a good thing and I am going to share what I learned. I did make the background with alcohol inks and then (I learned) ink lifting - look closely and you can see that there are snowflakes lifted off of the ink. In the process I also learned:

  1. ink lifting works better on newly created backgrounds - I tried it with an older background that I had made and it did not work as well.
  2. heat embossing on Yupo paper doesn't go very well
  3. I should have brought the die that went with this cool set from Waffle Flower - it would have made what I had in my head a whole lot easier!!!!
I heat embossed the Merry on regular white cardstock and then I fussy cut it out. The Christmas I silver embossed on vellum. I then found a few shiny snowflakes for embellishment.

Coloring - Elf

Darn, I ran out of daylight to take a good picture. Well, the chance of me winning is very, very slim - I saw a lot of the entries and I am not even close to a virtuoso! However, I like what I did and I have another Christmas card done!

***I retook the photo this morning so the colors look more authentic but the silver embossed sentiment did not show up. Oh well, I tried!

I used the small brick stencil for the background and blended using distress oxide smoked hickory. I painted Santa's Elves using Zig markers on watercolor paper. It is hard to tell but I used a white metallic paint for the hat edge and sleeves. I also used silver metallic for the bell on his hat.

I appreciate the chance to enter the MFT Superstar contest.

CAS - Dashing

Whew - got one done at least. It is very intimidating looking at all the entries but I decided to try it anyway. Nothing to lose and I finished a Christmas card, that alone is a win.

This was made using all MFT products - the circle was cut out from a background piece I had using alcohol inks which I splattered with a little white ink and some perfect pearls. The background of the card was lightly blended over the MFT Snowfall stencil. The reindeer is from the Santa and Friends stamp set with dies. I made the sentiment circle around the circle for a slightly different look. The image was colored using Copics and a white gel pen was used to give the cover of the reindeer a little added interest.

Thank you for looking - it was fun and as always!

Thankful for you

I learned something new and wanted to try it. Pearl alcohol inks and then heat embossed some leaves from the stitched leaves stamp set. I had the heat tool a little too hot and it did melt some of the yupo paper so I had to cut the panel down a bit. I don't think it hurt the outcome though. I popped up the thankful using several layers. Lots of embossing and lots fun to make. I will be making another one.

Sparkly Birthday Card

I love this Brutus Monroe toner sheet - makes the best background especially for my grand-sons. I foiled using gold foil and added a happy birthday sentiment that I doubled up and slightly off-set for dimension. I also added a little shaker balloon just cuz it was cute!

Baby Girl

A friend became a grandma of a little girl so I took that opportunity to make a baby girl card. I played around with this for quite a while until I got the look I wanted for the sketch challenge this week. I think it turned out really cute with some very light pinks.

50th Wedding

I  had to make a 50th wedding anniversary card for my sister and bother in law. So I pulled out the glitter gel and a sentiment from one of GKD foilable elements. I found a SSS stencil that looked a bit like intertwined rings and a couple of red hearts on the sentiment from Altenew. I love it when I can pull a few things together from multiple companies and make it work!

Birthday Panda

Absolutely love these pandas! I have 27 grandkids - I always need birthday cards so finding this adorable set was wonderful - so many different cards aI can make with this. I love how this turned out - such fun with the inked background using shimmer powders. I colored using Copics.

Thanks for looking and keep the great stamps coming SSS!

Sweet Tulip

Sweet Tulip! I am Dutch and tulips are my all time favorite flowers so I was first in line to get this die when it was released. I really like the way this turned out. I love this die and the inlaid pieces of alcohol ink pieces was just perfect! This was a lot of fun to make.

Camp Create - Awesome Ombre

Yeah - I did it! I completed the camp with not a day to spare! This was the fun card kit earlier this year. I think it is "Beautiful"! I stamped the image several times with versa-mark and heat embossed with white. I used Distress Oxide to create the ombre effect. The "you are" words came from another stamps set and another company but I needed those words and knew I had them somewhere. Found and score - done card!

Thanks for looking and wish me luck!

Camp Create - Monochromatic Magic

This was one of those cards that when something can go wrong it does! This concept was in my mind from the start. I had to use what I had so even though this was not the background I wanted I didn't have too many other MFT stencils other than my precious hills and clouds and grass. So then I found out I was all out of my glue!!! Horror of horrors! I had to use some back up glue that seemed to stick onto everything from my hands to to between all of the cracks of the Moroccan Mosaic die. ugh! Then after cutting and attempting to glue together 3 layers of the Thank You die I discovered (after the fact) that my embossing powder in vanilla probably was too old to not bubble - OR - there was glue on the top side of it. Anyway - I had to go for it because I still have one card to make for the Camp Create! Onward......

Camp Create - Background Bonanza

Yeah - I liked how this came out! It did take me several days to come up with a cool background. This was done with foil and tape. I used the little vase die, it was a freebie last year sometime. The flower was water-colored. The hello is also from MFT. I am crossing my fingers and hoping for a win - I need more stuff so I need some free $.

Camp Create - Magnificent Masking

Gosh - I am really struggling with my creative MoJo this time around. The last week the ideas just flowed, this time I am having a much harder time. Anyway, here is the masking technique. I stamped the background stamp twice, the first time with Distress Oxide light pink, then I embossed and used a clear embossing powder before using 4 different distress inks to go over the unmasked portion of the panel. Then I created my own stem and leaves for the sentiment and popped up the poppy in the middle.

Camp Create - Inlaid made easy

These were some tiny pieces to inlay! But I did it with some alcohol ink scraps I had laying around. I used just brown card stock for the trunk of the tree. I do hope that this card qualifies - it is a fun technique and I hope to make a another card.

Retirement

Masculine cards are a challenge all the time! I made this card for our pastor on his retirement - I dug out an old GKD stamp set called Enjoy the Journey. I do not think it is still available. But it was exactly what I needed for our pastor and friend.

Birthday Flowers

I am not much of a water-colorist but I think that these flowers made it so much easier for me. I used Zig markers to color the Flowers in Bloom that I had embossed with a rose gold embossing powder. I then took the Beautiful die and also embossed that along with a little panel for behind the happy birthday.

Thanks MFT for helping me feel like a success with water-coloring!

Joined the Army

This sketch challenge was just what I needed to get the creative juices flowing for this card for my granddaughter who joined the Army. Her 18th birthday party and official family send off is this weekend so I had to make a card. I used many MFT products for this card: a freebie balloon, the Yay for You stamp set - card sized confetti stencil and the black stripe patterned paper pack. On the inside of the card I had a present and a happy birthday sentiment.

Baby Shower

I used another of my wonderful pre-created alcohol ink backgrounds and made it work for this baby card and sketch challenge for MFT. I had to fussy cut the images from Hello Little One because I did not have the dies (yet). I colored with Copics and used a scrap from an MFT paper pack that came with a Christmas Kit featuring the Christmas Flamingos. I also used vellum for the sentiment. It was a fun card to make and not that difficult once I figured out what I wanted do.

Camp Create - Glitzy Glitter

This one was fun to make - I love these angels and decided to make her wear a glitzy glittery dress. The background is vellum and I used the cloud stencil and some light blue ink to create the clouds. I decided to layout the elements a little wonky just for a change. The stamp set is Little Angels - the frame is the A2 Frames set. The entire card is on a vanilla card base.

This completes the Camp Create challenge - loved doing all of these challenges.

Camp Create - Sensational Sliders

Well I did it, and it was a challenge for me. I have not purchased any of the slider elements so I had to improvise - thank goodness for Jennifer McGuire videos on YouTube and several others as well. I watched many slider card videos and finally came up with this card - and it worked! This is for my youngest son (32 years old) - love the play on words our last name is Flach - pronounced "flock".

So I used the Toucan do it stamp set, colored the images using Copics. The background was one of many I created one rainy day when I was totally blocked on ideas for a challenge. Worked out well with this card.

Camp Create - Spectacular Shaker

Day 3 of Camp Create on MFT. I love that this "camp day" had an option to make a Christmas Card - my first for a holiday quickly approaching! I made this card using the incredible foil called Rainbow Shattered Glass behind the letters and the ornament shaker. I added a gold cord and bottom border and a few gold sequence. Simple and done and I think kind of elegant.

Camp Create - Remarkable Resist

Day 2 of Camp Create - I used the Radiating Halftone background stamp, I clear embossed it on kraft colored card stock then used distress inks sponge and add color. The sentiment is the amazing large Happy Birthday Die and the cuteness critters are the Birth-Yah stamp set - I do have the dies for those but I didn't want the white to show so I fuzzy cut around the images. I also used glossy accents on the balloons. This one really did take me a while to make but it is done and I like it!

Camp Create Wonderful Watercolor

Today is day 1 of Camp Create on MFT. The challenge was water-coloring. I used Distress Oxide to paint 2 background panels. One in blues and the other in greens. I used the Ray of Light stencil and the cute Splendid Swans stamp set to make a card for my niece and her husband who are expecting their 3rd child (another boy). I love the size of the swans to create the 3rd child. I colored the swans using Copics. The picture did not turn out great but the card is really pretty.

Thank you so much for looking,

Thanks with Foil

I tried to take this picture several times but really had a hard time getting the silver foil to show as well as it does on the real thing. I used silver foil on the red alcohol ink background and then used the silver foil on a deco foil toner sheet for the background of the flower from the Doodled Blooms flower set the Thanks Die and the bit of a border above the panel. I think that the flower set may be retired because I couldn't find it on the website to link to it. And for those of you who have this set - yes - I fussy cut the inside of the petals so that the silver showed through.

Thanks for looking,

Vintage Flowers

Oh but I had fun with this one! I think it looks vintage with the wonderful script of the on the sentiment font and the glittery flowers. The sentiment was from one of GKD foil packets that I got a few years ago - you can't see the foil as well as I would like but it is nice and sparkly. I also used the Petals and Wings stamp and stencil set and some glitter paste. It really was so much fun to make and looks even better in real life.

Thanks for looking.
