CSS Inspiration Blog Hop 6-4-2013

Welcome to another Blog Hop based on this really pretty inspiration picture that Vicki found for us. You should have arrived from Linda Payne where I am sure you saw some wonderful eye candy!

I usually try to make a couple of cards for these fun Blog Hops but this time I only had time for the one. I chose to go with the colors from the inspiration photo. I used GKD Sweet Corn and Blue Raspberry. The images are from the last Stamp TV set; Dreams take Flight and Sweet Friend. I used some gems to add some shine and glimmer.

When I got home from work today I quickly threw together another card. It is now 7 minutes till this blog hop goes live so not too much details here. Another one that focuses on the colors. I used the stamp set called A Year of Flowers 2 and Poster Board Sentiments. Fun quick card that I need for a friend tomorrow. I colored the flowers with 2 different shades of Distress Inks and a pen nib. A button and a little ribbon - card done!

CSS - Color Blog Hop - 5-21-2013

Welcome to another CSS Blog Hop! I look forward to these blog hops and this time it is a color challenge. The challenge is to use red and green in a non -Christmas card. I don't know about you but when January rolls around I do not want to see red and green for a while. I thought if would be good to see the variety that can be made with this color combo. You should have arrived from Vicki Dutcher.

I love the way this card turned out, and it was really the last card I made after watching Melanie's tutorial and used her stamp set called A Year of Flowers 2. The paper was GKD white and Jelly Bean Green. This was a really fun technique - thanks Melanie!

I made this card for my dear daughter-in-law. I used 3 different stamp sets; Blossom which was one of the stamps from the last Stamp TV kit, Stamp it Big! 2, and Vogue Vases 2. The heart was made using the patterned paper called Winter Whimsy. The green of the ribbon and the flowers match better in person then on the photo. The blossoms were stamped on one of Gina's  first packs of patterned paper that came in a Stamp TV kit. I played around with the layout for a while on this one.

This last card was made using Sweet Strawberries and the technique I used was paper piecing. That's right I did not color I stamped the leaves and the strawberries on the GKD Pure Luxury Cherry Red and Grass Green. I know I tossed in a little bit of a very  light blue - forgive me!

Now be sure to hop on over to check out what Lori McAree has created for us to see.  If you want to start over you can go to StampTV for links to all the hoppers. And don't forget to leave a comment as you go along because we will choose a random comment and that stamper will win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! Look for the announcement on Tuesday, May 28. Good Luck!

CSS Hello Spring Blog Hop - 4-23-2013

Welcome to another Blog Hop and we are welcoming Spring! Some areas are still stuck in Winter so Spring cards are really fun to see and work on. You should have arrived from Melissa Schultz, I always love visiting her blog.

This first card was made using the stamps from the new StampTV kit which included this sweet image called Sweet Friend. I made this for my granddaughter whose birthday in on Thursday. She will love it! The patterned paper is also GK called Petals and Wings which coordinated so nicely with the PL Bubblegum Pink and Lemon Yellow.

I made this for my niece's bridal shower. The stamps were from Enjoy the Sunshine. I inked up a Cuttlebug folder to create the background. This was just a fun card that I made and it has a spring theme!

Now you have to hop on over to check out what Vicki Dutcher has created for us to see.

Thanks for the visit!

CSS - Sketch Challenge Blog Hop - 4-9-2013

Welcome to another Blog Hop - this time a sketch challenge! These are my favorite challenges and this sketch is awesome, thanks Brenda! You should have arrived from Vicki Dutcher, she always makes such amazing cards.

I have been wanting to ink up that rose from Stately Flowers 6 and I wanted it to be pink. So that is what I did. The pink card stock is GKD Passionate Pink. I love that color! I colored the rose with my Copics. The little bit of patterned paper is from Basic Grey and it is called Sweet Threads. I added some ribbon and a few pearls and a little "hi!" from A Year of flowers 2. And that is my card.

Now you have to hop on over to check out what Melissa Schultz has created for us to see.

Make sure to leave a comment as you go along because we will choose a random comment and that stamper will win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! Look for the announcement on Tuesday, April 16.

Anniversary Tulips

I made this card for my son and his wife's 11th wedding anniversary. The flowers that they used for the wedding were tulips so I needed the tulips on there. Theirs weren't yellow but I really like the spring yellow and black look.

The image is from GKD, it is one of my oldest and favorite flower sets called A  Beautiful Life. Such a pretty frame and fun to color with my Copic Markers. The sentiment is from Ticket Trio. All the card stock is Pure Luxury also from GDK.

CSS - Simplicity Sparkles Blog Hop - 3-26-2013

It is another StampTV blog hop. This time we were challenged to create a card that is CAS and that any embellishments we add must sparkle. It was a little harder for me then I thought it would be. But I rose to the challenge!
You should have arrived from the fabulous blog of Lori McAree.

I did not realize until after the cards were done that I chose a similar color theme for both cards. I did not mean to do that. The first card uses the fabulous stamp set called Vogue Vases 2. I turn to this set a lot. I used some patterned paper for the vases called Poppy Prints. The embellishments are some sparkly gold ribbon and some red gems.

This card was made on GKD Pure Luxury Kraft CS - I always hesitate to color an image on Kraft because it is not always the way I envision it turning out. The image is from the latest release set and it is called Day at the Park Diva. I used a combination of Gel Pens and Copics to color the images. The white and blue rug really do sparkle a bit. The frame around the image is gold and sparkly as are the 3 dots.

Best of Luck

I had to wait to post this card today so I could say, "Happy St. Paddy's Day" to all my Irish friends out there and all of the Irish for a day friends too!

This adorable image is from MFT Stamps, she looks so sweet! I used the fence die from ODBD. The DP (ambrosia) is from Basic Grey and the clover punch is Martha Steward. The Grey CS is from GKD. Yup - not playing favorites here!

I entered this card in the following challenges:

Simon Says Challenge - sketch
JUGS - colors
The Crafters Cafe - St. Paddy day
BasicGrey Challenges - Spring

Thanks for looking and I always love the comments!

CSS - Inspiration Blog Hop - 3-12-2013

It is another StampTV blog hop. The challenge for us this time around is an inspiration photo. You should have arrived from the fabulous blog of Tera Fujan with what I am sure was a wonderful project or maybe 2!

I chose to go with the colors and the basket idea from this inspiration photo for this card. I have a new granddaughter coming in May and this card will now be all ready for her. I used Spring Basket and Basket Additions 2 for this card. I colored the images with my Copic markers and found the dot paper circle in my basket of rejected designer paper scraps - how perfect was that? The paper was GKD Pure Luxury White and Bubblegum Pink. I was very happy with the way this card turned out.

This card is for my granddaughter Victoria's birthday later this week. I chose to use Beyond Baskets with the Basket Additions 2 for this card along with the pretty patterned paper called Petals and Wings. I also used GKD Pure Luxury Bubblegum pink and Cranberry tart. Lots and lots of paper piecing with this card.

Happy YOU day

This is another birthday card I made. I do not make very many cards with aging or distressing but in this case I did. I hope I did not get carried away.

I colored the image using my Copics. The image is from GKD called Birds and Blossoms. The used the wood-graining technique on this one, in fact that is what really led me to distressing. I threw a few buttons on it and some seam binding through the tag. A different look for my but fun none the less.

This is entered in the Craft your Passion challenge for using an odd number of embellishments.

I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp anything challenge.

In addition I entered this in the Cuttlebug Mania challenge. I used the Cuttlebug with my Spellbinders dies.

Thanks for looking and I always love the comments!

Scooter Diva

Nothing like a cold weekend (for Florida) to get some stamping done. I made several cards and loved it. This one is for a friend of mine - she is turning 50.

I colored the cute image using my Copics and paper pieced the balloons. The image is from GKD called Scooter Diva, cute isn't she? The brick wall was made using my Scor-pal and then some sponging. I am entering it in the Stamp TV challenge for wood-graining but I made a brick graining instead. I had fun making this.

I used the sketch provided by JUGS. I really like this sketch and may just create another card using it.

I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp anything challenge.

CSS Blog Hop - My Favorite Things - 2/26/2013

It is another StampTV blog hop. This time around it is really fun - it is called "My Favorite Things"! Doesn't that remind you of the wonderful Sound of Music? That challenge was to use or make our favorite things. You should have arrived from the fabulous blog of Lori McAree with what I am sure was a wonderful project or maybe 2!

My favorite things are birthdays, or maybe it is just that they occur in my family on a regular basis. These are 2 cards I made for two of my daughters in law. The first one was made using the incredible Vogue Vases 2. I love the way the colors worked together on this card with the patterned paper called Wisteria Lane with the PL Vibrant Violet and Jelly Bean Green.

Here is the other birthday card, for this one I used Sweet Tweets. It is a fun card to make and look at. I used some wonderful GKD patterned paper called Pool Side for this one. I love how it worked together with the PL Cranberry Tart.

Now hop on over to visit Sharri Seffens, for some more fabulous eye candy. If you want to start at the beginning or get lost along the way, just jump directly to the links for all of the wonderful creations on StampTV.

Love in a Jar

Only a few more days and it is Valentine's Day. The day of love and I have been abundantly blessed with so many people in my life to love. Today I am sharing 2 more Valentine cards with you - the last 2 for this year.

I made this first card using Daydream Designs Saving all my Love. I really like this image and the saying is how I feel about my grandchildren. They are still young and nothing is as precious to me as their hugs and love.

I used only pink and red and white for this card. I did cut out a few larger hearts to put on the top.

This second card uses Daydream Designs Chalkboard Valentine. I made this rather simply with a couple of red doilies that I had. I like the result of this one. I had no idea where I was going with it but it turned out well.

I also made this for the following challenges:

CSS - Color Blog Hop - 2-5-2013

It is another StampTV blog hop. This month it is a color combo challenge! That challenge was to use red and pink with a neutral color! This was a lot more of a challenge for me then I expected! You should have arrived from the fabulous blog of Sharri Seffens with what I am sure was a wonderful project!

These cards were made because I am in desperate need of several birthday cards, we get hit hard in February! I used the stamp set called Sweet Tweets (it was the free set this month!) I colored the funky cupcake with my Copics. I stamped the background using Cherry Red ink on Sandy Beach card stock. Added some ribbon and a birthday card is done. Now I just have to decide who gets this card (daughter-in-law #1 or daughter-in-law #2 or daughter-in-law-to-be, or daughter or mother-in-law or grandson - yeah, not grandson).

This simple card was such fun! I used the new stamp set called Lovely Ladybug, and the only extras are the Stickles I used for the trail and one little bead to dot the I. I know that there is no pink on this card but the Stickles are kind of close to pink so I took a little creative liberty here. I also used GKD pure luxury Cherry Red and White card stock. Oh, who should I give this one to?

This card was quickly finished tonight after work. I had to photograph it in the house, not my preferred method but I had no choice. I may replace it tomorrow if I get home early enough. Anyway - this was made using Birds & Blossoms and the GKD patterned paper pack called Love Letters which coordinated perfectly with the GKD Innocent Pink and Red Hot. I colored the bird house with a few Copics. The metal happy birthday was quickly added. Paper crafting, like everything else, runs through cycles. There was a time that metal embellishments were all the rage - I brought a bunch! Remember the Prima flower, yup I have shelves full, and Dew Drops and fibers and mesh - well I have it all. I was glad to use the happy birthday though! This card follows the sketch challenge on Mix it up Monday.

Pieced Birthday

February  is a big birthday month in my family. This meant making a lot of birthday cards. This is one of several that I will be sharing with you. I really like how this one turned out.

I used the stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers called Cupcake Birthday. I paper pieced the image with a great paper pack from BG called Oliver. It was fun to do and I think it made the card look a bit more masculine, great for a grandson I think. I used the sketch provided by JUGS. I really like this sketch and may just create another card using it.

I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp challenge.

Thanks for looking and I always love the comments!

Be Still: Psalm 46:10

I was at a meeting at work this past week as part of a committee planning a day of recollection for the faculty and staff for during lent. I was reminded once again of how different we all are in how we live our our faith. We can learn so much from each other - I was reminded of how I should be still and listen. That is why I chose to make this card, to remind me of that.

I made this card using Daydream Designs Scripture Set 2. There are 3 sets in all where each of us on the Dream Team chose our favorite verse. This particular verse was chosen by Marlou. I used some wonderful BG patterned paper and just a ribbon and a few pearls. I like the way this turned out.

I also made this for the following challenges:
God Bless You - have a wonderful week!

Valentine Balloon

Oh how I wish I were up in that balloon on a wonderful day such as today! The weather was perfect with blue skies and cool temperatures. I loved it. I think you can see it a little in the background of this picture.

I made this card using Daydream Designs Love Lifts You. I printed the balloons twice each and then cut one of each out to pop them up. The background is the paper that came in the same set.

A simple but fun card - this one is heading up to Alaska to my grandchildren up there.

I also made this for the following challenges:

MY PROJECTS:

I made 2 cards for this hop, both are rather simple but I am away for the weekend and had a lot to get ready, especially for work. I certainly hope that this post comes off without a hitch. The first card was made using 3 images from Sending You Love and the Sending You Love Sentiments. I love how I could layer the images in Word and make them all into one image. I added a little bling and I am ready with another valentine to send to a loved one.

The second card didn't turn out the way I had envisioned it. I wanted to use my newly purchased hearts Spellbinder's dies to make a shape card. I loved the little dogs with the heart image from the Snowbaby Love set. I had some white flocking that I found somewhere once and tried to make that as a background, it was very hard to do and I am not sure I like it much. Oh well, no time to make another now.
