Blessings - Psalm 138:3

Our 1 year Birthday Blog Hop starts at the Stampin' Sisters in Christ blog! You'll want to start there and follow along. There are many blessings along the way and chances to win prizes, so we hope you'll join us! All of the blog links are there in case you get lost or a link does not work.

Psalm 138:3 - When I called you answered me; you built up strength within me.
There have been times in my life when I have called out in desperation for God to help me because I just didn't think I could make it through. One such time was when I found out that our daughter was mentally handicapped. We had adopted her from Korea and she was suffering from malnutrition and had pneumonia when we got her home at age 3 months. When I finally accepted that something was wrong I told God that I couldn't do it - I could not raise a handicapped child! After ranting and raving for a while I finally quieted and told God that I could not do it without His help. (gee, you think that is what He wanted to hear?) Now, 33 years later, not only does He help me, I have also found a strength within me that I did not know I had. It was a lesson learned that has seen me through so many difficulties since then, with Katie (our blessing!) and other difficult times. Now I just find a quiet spot, like shown in my card, and talk to Jesus knowing that He will answer me and walk with me.

This card came together easily. I knew I wanted the flowers to show around the chair so I masked the chair and stamped the flowers all the way around. I then stamped the butterflies and cut those out. A fun peaceful card to make.

Who wants some flowery candy? Blog candy that is! I will pick one lucky winner using the random number generator from all the comments that are left here on my blog! Be sure to leave a comment on the main site there is a $50.00 gift certificate up for grabs and your name will be entered twice for my blog candy! The hop officially ends on Wednesday at 11:59 pm Pacific time and the winner will be announced on Thursday. If you came here without going to SSIC be sure to head right on over - more prizes and candy to be had!

Your next stop on this birthday blog hop is to our very own dear Randi! Be sure to hop on over and leave her a blessing! Thanks for hopping along with us, for your continued support and your wonderful comments.

May God send you blessings!

The moment I looked at your card, I immediately thought "what a peaceful image" It is a beautiful card! Sometimes we need quiet rest to allow the strength God has put in us to come forth and take hold. You're amazing to have raised a child with this handicap. They are a huge blessing because they have such faith and they don't worry about what others think about it! Thank you for sharing this with us today!

your cards and your verse selections are always so perfect. i understand all too well the crying out to God that i cannot do it - and I cannot do it alone. He has been with me time and time again over the past few years. when people ask me how i do it, i just say faith; He's never let me down before and I don't suppose He's going to now. if i can present a positive front to others to lead them to Jesus - thinking they want what i've got - then i've done what my path was meant to do.

beautiful card.

Miesje, Hi! Your card is gorgeous, and the chair is calling to me! God is calling to my daughter, who is not a believer! She said she wants to go to church with us for the very first time next Sunday. My husband was baptised not too long ago, and she went for that, but left right afterwards, not staying for the whole service. God is so good! I need some blog candy!

Your story with your adopted katie brought tears to my eyes - such a testimony of His incredible love and givings - she is so lucky you found her and have blessed your lives with her. Your card is gorgeous! I live close to the beach and always long to bring a chair and find that quiet moment (so far, we are just there with the 4 kids and usually chasing them!) Hi Miesje~

Wow! Where to begin? I really love your card with the beautiful lavender and the butterflies. I love the simple but powerful word, "Blessings."

I especially admire and am grateful for you sharing a part of your life with strangers to demonstrate just how amazing and faithful our Lord, Jesus the Christ is! You gave a great example of how Psalm 138:3 really works in our daily life.

Thank you for being so open, my Sister, and for your beautiful card, and the very generous blog candy you are offering!
