Friends - Psalm 56:3

Oh my goodness - what a week! The birthday blog hop was amazing - thank you Lisa for thinking of it and organizing it. You are wonderful and such a gift to all of us! The comments just blew me away which is why I wanted to make this card. It is a simple card this time but it fit what I was thinking and feeling. Friends are so important in our lives and I am blessed to have so many.

I started back to work and it was good to see all my "work" friends again after the summer off. Some of us have been working together for many, many years and it is always nice to reconnect. I also am so happy to count all of you as friends. Taking the time to leave comments both here and on the Stampin Sisters in Christ site.

The scripture verse this week was picked by Cindy and what a good verse it is. I am going to type out the couple of verses before it too - it works for me that way. Taken from my New American Bible, Saint Joseph Edition.
"Have pity on me, O God; for men trample upon me; all the day they press their attack against me. My adversaries trample upon me all the day; yes, many fight against me. O Most High, when I begin to fear, in you will I trust."
Do you have days like that - or even more. When it seems like everyone is against you. This could be at work or in your neighborhood or even in our own families. It is difficult to deal with those feelings. That is where the phrase that Cindy chose is so appropriate. "When I begin to fear, in you I will trust". That is TRUE friendship and that friend will never move or leave or judge you. I do not have to be afraid. How great is that?!

The challenge this week is to make a project that represents what could be your life verse. This will be different for everyone. I look forward to hearing what you will share.

Best Friend

Happy Father's Day to all fathers who are reading this blog! Okay ladies - just pass the message on to them. :-) Last week I was on vacation for 7 days with one of my oldest and dearest friends. We have been each others confidants for almost 40 years! From the moment we met at my marriage to her husband's  brother we clicked! We are more than sisters in law - we are friends. We have cried together, rejoiced together, and laughed together. Through all of those years we have both experienced some difficult times and have helped each other through them. Even though she has always lived in Wisconsin and I in Florida we have there for each other. Having a friend by your side is a gift. But being so many miles apart we also realize that our greatest treasure is our mutual best friend, Jesus. We share that bond that comes from  a total and complete trust  that God  is with us through it all, that we truly never walk alone. When I need prayers or she needs prayers we know that we are getting them AND we know that the prayers will be answered, not always the way we want but the way it should be. So the verse this week: Psalm 119:105 "A lamp to my feet is your word, a light to my path" speaks to my heart. That lamp is always on helping me on my way, thank you God!

The challenge this week on Stamping Sisters in Christ is to make a card using no stamped images, just words. So this is what I came  up with. Funny sometimes how things work out. I had to run to Michael's this week and they were having a super sale  when I ran across these pressed flowers and leaves. I knew I had to use them and found the paper to match the flower - you do that too right? I also made this for the StampTV Inspire challenge. Have a wonderful day. Thanks for the visit and spoil the dads!
