Yellow Chaise

Yes, this certainly is yellow and black! I really did like the way that it turned out. Over on StampTV there has been a challenge called CHA Envy! Yup - those of us who wish we would have been able to attend but couldn't. There were 3 challenges in all and I have had a blast making cards for them. If you read this post before tonight rush over and enter. There were a total of 3 challenges. I have posted two of them on here and will post the third one I made next week. I do not like to post more than 1 card per day.

Anyway - the challenge for this card was to use the colors black and yellow and a hint of another color was allowed. This is the last of the 3 envy challenges I made because I had a hard time coming up with an idea. Then I was browsing through some of the other challenge sites and came across Simon Says Challenges and there was a challenge to use dots and a prima flower. The light bulb went off above my head and I created this card. I really like it when that happens.

There was nothing difficult about this card - I inked up the swiss dot cuttlebug folder with black ink then stamped the chaise and cut it out. I also cut out the vase with the flowers after coloring the image. I used the Vintage backgrounds stamp for the large dots and Wa-la, there it is!

Thanks for the stop by - be sure to come back tomorrow for the newest Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge!

God Bless,

Apron Card

**The Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge card for the Sunday 6/26 challenge.**
Oh this was a fun card to make. I have a tendency to shy away from non-traditional cards so this was, in fact, a true challenge to me. I made this for JUGS, they also had the link to the template.  I also chose the colors for the StampTV color challenge this week which was to use pastels. I really played around with for a while before I actually made the card. I used Nina Bracket's Vintage Backgrounds to stamp the yellow of both the apron and stamped image of the apron. I paper pieced quite a bit and had to put the lace around the bottom of the apron because I am sure that Ozzie's Harriet always had lace on the bottom of her apron! Right? I really wouldn't know because I am not an apron person although I should be! Thanks for looking!

Funny Girl

Gina is looking for her new Center Stage Spotlight Designer for the upcoming May release. The challenge is to think of a favorite movie and make a card about something in the movie that inspired me. Well...... My favorite movie is Funny Girl, I loved the music and the sense of humor and the love story. My favorite part of the movie was when "Fanny" was on the tugboat going to meet her man and she was singing "Don't Rain on my Parade". Remember that part? So here is where my "WELL" comes comes in. I tried the card with the sailboat - just didn't quite cut it so I just went with the elegant look of Barbra and the musical score in the background. Somehow I just had to go with the red, black and white. I used several stamp sets for this card. I used Sew Pretty by Asela, Vintage Backgrounds by Nina, and Vintage Borders also by Nina. It was not a difficult card to make once I gave up on the tugboat!I used some oval nesties and some red twill ribbon to make the flower. I had some gems for the center of the flower and for earrings. I used copics to color. Thanks for stopping and I sure do appreciate the chance to win. Stop by Stamp TV and click on the blog on the right hand side to see the incredible other cards that wanna be designers have created - they  are awesome!!!
