Daisy Birthday

Well, I got one card made for the Gina K challenge and the opportunity to be a guest designer. It is not the best card I ever made but I will enter it anyway. I had a super busy weekend and just did not have the time to put into it. I used 2 of the wonderful summer colors and the Spring Florals stamp set along with the sentiment from Inside Out. I did check out the other entries and WOW Gina - you have a tough choice ahead of you. Lots of great cards!

Blessings

Tomorrow is Friday - yippie! I am ready for a couple of days off of work. Tonight's card was for a StampTV challenge to paper piece. I did that in this card on the vase and in the picture frame. I used October Afternoon's Report Card paper for the little snowman in the frame and the stripe and the vase. The stamp sets I used are all from GinaK. Lovely Shelf (Nina), Tech Talk (Melanie), Timeless Treasures (Theresa) and Lovely Frames (Nina) for the word "Blessings".

Howdy

This was a card a made for just because I wanted to use my new Lovely Labels by Nina. So I stamped one and then just played around with it until something came together. It is not great but I had fun doing it.

Wonderful

You are some kind of wonderful Melanie! I dedicate this card to her for e-mailing me about my win of her Pressed Flowers stamp set! I usually check my "favorite sites" regularly but I missed seeing my own name (duh)! As if my name were so common! For this card I used Melanie's Pressed Flowers and A Year of Flowers - loved using both! I also used Nina's Lovely Labels. The words are from Nina's Heartily Yours set. Lots of different stamp sets used on this one for 3 different challenges, JUGS, Sketch Girls, and StampTV. I used SU Cranberry Crisp and Cameo Coral - GKD Ivory and Chocolate. I cuttlebugged the one panel after layering and added the 2 buttons. I cut out and layered one of the flowers. It was a fun card to make.

Faith is Hope

The minute I saw this stamp set by GinaK Designs I knew I had to have it for a number of reasons starting with the fact that some of the proceeds would go to help the people in Haiti and the wonderful saying and the awesome butterfly. I had a fun time with this set. I stamped the butterfly on vellum and colored it with Copics. Then I just spread out some card stock to see what colors I wanted as the backdrop without taking away from the image and the saying. It took a little while to come up with the colors and finally decided on the stark contrast of yellow and black. The layout was for Sketch Girl challenge and the StampTV sketch layout. Double entry! That does not happen to me very often. Then I browsed on over to Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger and saw that challenge to use yellow - well - - this is yellow!

No Upload?

Sorry about the no upload these past few days. The funny thing is that I have actually made a few cards and they are waiting patiently to be photographed and uploaded. Sometimes the "time" that is available is a little less than what is needed to do all that I love to do. This past weekend one of my sons was here for the weekend and we enjoyed spending time him. Tonight there will be a couple of cards to view so come back please!

Spring Crocus

I got my box of goodies from GinaK and inked up the first stamp "Spring Florals" and used the wonderful new spring colored Pure Luxury Card Stock. And the Spring ribbon.  I also used the Spring Digital Paper that Nina designed. I suppose you could say that this is a totally spring card! Living in Florida does mean that we get Spring sooner - in fact today has been lovely - even went for a little spin in the boat. The bling is from Micheal's and I loved how well it matched. I did not use any words on this one - will see what I want to use it for first. This is for the Monday StampTV challenge and the CPS154 challenge.

Wood Grained Birthday

I finally got my box of goodies in the mail today and my fingers have a blister from cutting rubber. :-) Then for tonight's challenge I didn't even use them because I couldn't picture the card with pastel colors. Anyway - this is my first attempt at a wood grained look. It was made for the Blast from the Past challenge on StampTV. Since I do not yet own a Scor-Pal (on my wish list - hint - hint!) it did take a while to make the score marks on the card stock with a ruler and a mini scorer. I used the Guiding Light stamp set from GinaK, a button and some twine like ribbon. The second bird is cut out and popped up. The words are from the new Spring Florals set from Gina. I like having some masculine cards in my stash.

Wedding Card

My nephew is getting married in March. They are having an Irish themed wedding so I had to go with the green. On an earlier post I had the invitations that I made (200) and the bridal shower card I made for this wedding. For this card I used a different shade of green (Wild Wasabi) and the "With this Ring" stamp set from Rupa. The DP is Afternoon Tea from SU. I also used the Mother of Pearl card stock from GinaK and found it a real challenge to color on and to stamp. It took 3 tries to get it so that I did not smudge it. This is also for the StampTV sketch challenge that Jennie posts. It was a great sketch and a fun card to make. Thanks for the visit!

Wish upon a star

This card was for a challenge on StampTV. The challenge was to use stars. I think I got that covered don't you? I owe Melanie a great big THANK YOU for e-mailing me to let me know that I won blog candy worth the "Pressed Flowers" stamp set. I was sick last week and I guess I just forgot to check all the things that I enter! I will have to keep better track. The thing is, when I placed my order with GinaK I had that stamp set in and out of the cart several times. I ended up leaving it out for the next order or if I win a challenge. I am so happy to get that stamp set to go with my A year of Flowers. Thanks Melanie!!!

Happy Birthday Collage

Another birthday card for my stash. Need them all the time. This one was for a color challenge on StampTV - I love that site. I wasn't thrilled with how it turned out but I will use it anyway. Did you notice I changed my profile picture? I am not sure how long I will leave this one up but I thought I would give it a shot. Here is the card.

Birthday Zoom

I also made a birthday card for one of my grandsons. He likes cars so deciding on which stamp to use was not difficult. He will be 6 and I know he will like this card. I used Nina's Heartily Yours and some buttons for the release party sketch challenge. Sure am crossing my fingers for a win here since I could not buy all the stamp sets I wanted.

Tulip Birthday

I like having some birthday cards on hand and since most of the country is thinking SPRING I went with a basket of tulips. I used a set called "Vintage Baskets". I paper pieced the basket and colored the tulips with Copics.

Lovely Thanks

Today's upload is a thank you card I made for my in laws. They are amazing people who always put others first. This was also made for a sketch challenge from the GinaK release party last week that I missed cuz I was sick! Still crying over that! This was simple to make - I paper-pieced the vase from Lovely Shelf from Nina and used the DP from the Sugar Rush pack from Basic Grey. I also used Basic Grey and So Safron card stock. The cute little fowers in the corner are from The Flourishes set from Spellbinders and the rose was painted with some glittery pink paint. Thanks for looking and hope to have another upload later.

Quilt Card

I can't believe it! I was sick and could not be at the GinaK release party last night. I sure did miss being there. I am not used to feeling yucky and am glad to be at least back on the road to recovery. This morning I checked out all the new "stuff" and put in an order. Sure do wish that I could afford them all. They are so nice. I had to pick and choose the ones that I think I will use the most right now and put the rest in my wish list. Well, before I had  to take a few day respite I did make a quick card for the Thursday sketch challenge that I have not yet posted here. It is the first square card I made, now I will need an envelope - hmm - square envelope? For this card I used the paper from Basic Grey called Sugar Rush. Then A year of Flowers by Melanie. A few dew drops for embellishment and that is it. Hopefully I will be more creative this week - I think I was fighting the flu bug most of the week.

My Lists

Today I am not uploading a card, instead my upload is a notebook that I altered for a challenge on GinaK.The challenge was to use digital paper or images. I used the Lovely Shelf digital paper from GinaK Designs. I have had that notebook in my closet for a while. When I see something on sale or clearance that could be altered someday I usually get it. This was one of those books. Then in the mail the day before, I just received the Elegant Post stamp set from Nina Brackett. I won that stamp set from a challenge that I won last week. I just love getting a free stamp set! I was not real happy with the ribbon, in fact after I took the picture and uploaded the image I took off the ribbon and replaced it with a white ribbon along with the red button. I like it better now. Anyway - here is the project.

Love for my BFF

This card is for my best friend. We have been friends for more than 38 years. I used a Flopsey stamp set from MFT. It is hard to tell on the picture but the black background is cuttlebugged. This is one of those cards that really does look better in real life. I colored Flopsey with Copics. This is for the Card Pattern Sketch 50 challenge.

Lily Book

A second upload today. I was cruising through some of my favorite blogs and on Melanie's blog she asked for a new card to be made using her stamp set "A Year of Flowers". So I decided to make one. Then I checked out a few of the other cards that are entered and wanted to take mine back! :-) WOW - there are some fantastic cards! Some of the entrants just blew me away! Anyway - here is my little Lily Book Card. Oh - I forgot to mention that the stamp used for the words was from SU called Bloomin Beautiful. The CS was Wild Wasabi, Pixie Pink, Craft and Vanilla. I colored with Copics and the ribbon was from Michaels. There - I think I got it all. Thanks for the comments - I love reading them all!

Tea Time

Happy Sunday! I got the first challenge of the week done a few hours early and hope to work on another one before the day is done. The sun finally came out here and I must say that it is about time. We Floridians really like the sun and get a bit crotchety when it stays away too long. For those of you who do follow my blog sometimes you may remember that I made some cards for my soon to be new granddaughters. Well the date for the finalization is the 11th of this month. We are all very excited to welcome them legally into our family. They were already part of our family in our hearts.

On to today's upload I made a card for any occasion and for 2 challenges. The first is for the StampTV Monday color challenge.  The other is for the JUGS sketch challenge. I love it when I can combine a couple of challenges. For this card I used SU Mellow Moss and So Saffron cs. The stamps are Lovely Shelf from Nina. I inked up a cuttlebug folder and sponged the background of the circles. I also shortened the shelf to fit it into the circle. The ribbon and the flowers were just from my stash of stuff - and boy do I ever have a stash of random stuff! Well, have a good week and I will try to upload something new every few days. God Bless!

Horse Valentine

This card is for my son the farrier. I love making cards for him because I love using the "Out West" stamp set from Theresa on GKD. This one was a little harder because I did not want to "bling" it up. This was also done for the challenge on GKD's StampTV. I am also posting this for for a a challenge for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. The awesome card-stock was also from Gina's pure luxury line. I stamped the image with bleach on the brown. I got the cute little cowboy boot charm from Stamping Bella a long time ago, forgot I had them. So here is tonight's card - hope you like it!

Lovebirds

It is back to Valentine Cards tonight just in time for the Thursday Challenge on GinaK. I dearly love the Heartily Yours set from Nina Brackett. For my large family there are just so many wonderful images to make a large variety of cards. This will be for one of my adult children - I can't say which one in case they see this. Not that they look at this but their lovely young ladies do! So it will be a semi-surprise. I made this with Gina's lipstick red CS and some of her pure luxury vanilla. The DP is from the Sugar Rush pack. The little beads are from the sale bin at Micheal's - I love those finds! So this is my upload for tonight!

Checkered Birthday

I told you that there would be more birthday cards coming - the hard part is going to be deciding which daughter-in-law or daughter will get which card - could be a toss of the coin. This one was really fun to make. I used the Report Card paper pack from October Morning for the checkered challenge from GinaK on StampTV. Then there was also a challenge on Card Patterns with this layout. I started laying things out and it just came together. I used the Square Pegs set from Melanie for the cupcake. I also just got the Flourishes from Spellbinders and used 2 of them, aren't they cute? (I found them at JoAnne's) I used the Ocean Mist, Vanilla, and In the Navy Pure Luxury card stock from GinaK. I paper pieced the cupcake paper. This card was easy to make.

Button, button

I always have a hard time with the "not cards" category in the challenges that I try to complete. I looked around, and looked around my craft room and found these very plain plastic containers that I keep my buttons in. Aha, I thought - I will cover those! Then I found the Cuttlebug folders with the little buttons on it - grabbed the button stamp from Square Pegs and the word "My" from Organize It! sets from GinaK and there it was! Excuse my handwriting on the word "buttons" couldn't find a stamp for it anywhere! :-)
PS: The buttons on the top are for show only - I could NEVER waste a button by gluing it to the lid! :-)
